Onyx Solar received an award for the most sustainable material at the WSSET INNOVATION AWARDS 2016
The contest, organized by the World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies, acknowledges advancements in the development of new sustainable technologies. Onyx Solar received this accolade on behalf of improvements made on the competitiveness of building integrated photovoltaic technologies – developing a new generation of photovoltaic glass.
The award is a new landmark for Onyx Solar in Singapore, where the company has already integrated its photovoltaic glass in the tallest building in the country, the Tanjong Pagar tower, and has established an official distributor, iGlass, whose representatives picked up the award during the SET 2016 conference.

Our solar control glass generates clean and free energy form the sun, while reducing the energy needs in the acclimatization of the building. It insulates the building, regulating the light transmission to the interior and filtering UV and IR radiations.

Onyx Solar®’s range of glass can reach every possible U value or thermal transmittance possible. Said values are in direct relation with the ability to maintain optimal temperature conditions inside the building, since they determine the amount of heat the glass lets through.

Amorphous and crystalline silicon laminated glasses have successfully overcomed strict tests.
Laminated crystalline and amorphous silicon glass have been subject to several tests to determine their impact resistance (UNE-EN 12600:2003), achieving the highest rating (1B1), and their resistance to manual attacks (UNE-EN 356:2001), resulting in a P4A classification for our amorphous silicon glass, equivalent to ballistic resistance.
Our glasses have successfully passed the humidity (UNE-EN ISO 12543-4:2011) and high temperature (UNE-EN ISO 12543-4:2011) tests after enduring extreme conditions. Furthermore, our colored laminated glass overcame tests established by the UNE-EN ISO 4892-2:2006 standard.

The US Congress has approved the extension of 30% solar investment tax credits (ITC) till 2019. These incentives give the owners of a solar installation a 30% tax credit for the total cost of their solar system, which will promote the adoption of this renewable energy in the US.
