Onyx Solar has organized this month in Avila the first European event for public dissemination about the HERB project, whose goal is the renovation of houses to achieve Net Zero Energy.

It was a conference where the European HERB partners talked about the different technical aspects of Holistic Energy-Efficient Retrofitting of Residential Buildings and about the innovative solutions of energy efficiency that have been implemented in real houses. For example, the one in Gotarrendura (Avila), where on April 17th there will be an open house day.

Onyx Solar organized the first European event of dissemination on the HERB project

 

HERBHERB (Holistic Energy-efficient Retrofitting of residential Buildings), funded by the European Commission through the Seventh Framework Programme. This is a large-scale international project in collaboration with academic institutions and European industrial partners. Its main objective is to study and implement innovative measures for the Holistic Energy-efficient Retrofitting in residential Buildings.

At the conference, which takes place in the last days of March in Avila (Spain), the project partners will present some of the measures they are studying to undertake with different application on their respective buildings in Europe. Onyx Solar, as the coordinator of the energy renovation that it is being carried out in a town of Avila called Gotarrendura, will have a key role in this event, explaining the action and organizing a tour where the innovations will be presented on site.

The European Commission receives Onyx Solar, together with the other partners of the European R&D HERB project, which objective is to obtain energy savings in buildings up to 86%

The HERB project is a retrofit of 14 European residential buildings in which they will be implemented the newest technologies related to energy efficiency, such as the photovoltaic glazing for building envelopes made by Onyx Solar.

As an example, in the Spanish residential building retrofit, it will be installed Onyx Solar’s multifunctional ventilated façade besides high-thermal insulation systems, high performance windows (IGU), LED lightings, natural illumination by light pipes systems, multifunctional façades, solar thermal panels and biomass system.

Expected energy savings are up to 86% as well as a 90% reduction of the CO2 emissions.
